NOT TOO HARD NOT TOO SOFT JUST RIGHT:
Flower for the Anthropocene
A giant soft flower and two cushioned boulders inviting the public a unique way to repose. Originally proposed and constructed for the courtyard of Industry City, Brooklyn, NY. Not Too Hard, Not Too Soft, Just Right, is a piece of public furniture that plays with scale referencing the primeval flower and related geology. Continuing Pillow Culture’s interest in the relationship of monumental form and comfort via the familiar - in this case a pillow, a flower, and a rock.
Fabricated the Art Object for the Artist Group Pillow Culture. Cut out and sewed the flowers and structural bands that gave structure to the flower form.
